Welcome (A little about us)
|
I grew up with a dog in the family, so when my fox terrier (Peasant) went to heaven my husband wanted a Bull Terrier, so I
scanned the newspapers for a puppy. I bought my first Bull Terrier in 1975 as a pet. She was a white girl called Maclan
Juliette (Julie). I had fun showing her to her Australian Championship with a few In-Group wins making it all the more
enjoyable.
I bred her to Ch. Jockrobbie Prince Geham and got a nice little brindle girl in Ch. Denotany Thunder Queen (Beauty) who
went on to become my first home grown champion, and my first winner at a Bull Terrier Club Show with a reserve in Show
to her dad. I went to the Sydney Bull Terrier Club Show with her and her mum and it was there that I discovered better Bull
Terriers so I ordered and bought Dabews Princess Puffin (Puffin) {Sire : Davnor Red Centurion Dam : Noselg Saint Jan}
from Mr Dave Beioley. Puffin hated the show ring though she produced some nice puppies. One was Ch Denotany Lady
Hera (Snow) {Sire : Aust. Ch. Buzz of Brobar (Imp. U. K. )} who went on to produce Denotany Mondays' Child (Crystal)
{Sire : Denotany Santa's pride} whom I believe would have been a champion had I taken the time to show her.
In 1991 we moved onto acreage as we had outgrown the house block and the four legged children needed more room to
move. Here things started to move , being able to keep a couple of puppies instead of just one from each litter and being
able to buy-in new bloodlines. I bred a nice little girl in Denotany Rain Dancer (Jenna)
{Sire : Vangelis No Bullshit - Dam : Denotany Aceof Hearts} who mothered Ch. Denotany Cop This { Sire : Ch. Wanel
Whyis Itso} . We mated Ch. Nichmari Majorette , one of the girls we had bought in to Ch. Bullamakanka Young Gun and
produced two champions in Ch. Denotany Song N Dance (Taylor) and Ch. Denotany Fire N Ice (Fury).
In 1997 we were devastated with the news that most of our children were affected by one or more of the hereditary
diseases. We are now on the road back, with healthy Bull Terriers with new bloodlines and a couple of our un-affected
children. I believe we, as Bull Terrier breeders owe this great breed the best we can do and we will continue to test all our
children before breeding to ensure they grow to old age healthy and happy.
I joined the judging panel in 1999 with group 2 (Terriers) and have to date judged over 2000 terriers including the Bull
Terriers Club of Qld Open Show and the Bull Terrier and Miniature Bull Terrier Association of Western Australia
Championship Show, The Bull Terrier Club of the Australian Capital Territory and many All Breeds club in Australia
IWe do not breed a lot of litters only a couple a year and are happy with the results we achieve.
